When Cameo Contractors began searching for a commercial floor care specialist, they found Sparkle Surface Care online. After reviewing our website, learning about our experience, and reading our client reviews, they contacted us to discuss an upcoming project.
The assignment involved preparing and professionally finishing a newly installed VCT floor for the Community Council Health Systems Wellness Center in Philadelphia.
More than simply protecting a new floor, the objective was to create a clean, bright, and welcoming environment. They want community members, clients, and their families to feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door. Floors are one of the first things visitors notice when entering the facility. And therefore, they deserve a professional finish that reflects the quality and care provided throughout the Wellness Center.
Every successful commercial project depends on the right trade partners. Contractors need companies that communicate clearly, respond promptly, respect construction schedules, and consistently deliver quality workmanship.
At Sparkle Surface Care, we understand that confidence is earned long before the first coat of finish is applied. From responsive communication and timely estimating to proven restoration methods and dependable execution, our goal is to make every phase of the project as seamless as the finished floor itself.
Experience and equipment are only part of the equation. Just as important is following the right process.
New VCT arrives from the manufacturer with a protective coating designed to prevent damage during shipping and installation. Before a commercial floor finish can properly bond, the factory-applied coating must be carefully removed.
Our team begins by mechanically scrubbing the floor with professional equipment and the appropriate stripping solution. Then, rather than relying solely on conventional recovery methods, we thoroughly steam rinse the entire surface using our truck-mounted extraction system. Delivering large volumes of nearly 212° water at up to 1,500 PSI, the system flushes away, stripping residue before immediately recovering it into our waste tank.
The result is an exceptionally clean foundation for the floor finish. Finally, three professional coats of commercial floor finish are applied to produce outstanding gloss, durability, and long-term performance.
With more than 250+ years of combined floor care experience, Sparkle Surface Care blends time-tested craftsmanship with advanced cleaning technology to deliver commercial floor refinishing that exceeds traditional strip-and-wax methods.
Perhaps that’s one reason this project came together so quickly.
Shortly after Cameo Contractors reached out, Chris arranged an on-site visit to evaluate the newly installed VCT floor. Following a walkthrough, a few measurements, and a brief discussion of the project, the contractor asked, “So, when can I expect an estimate?”
Chris smiled and replied, “How about right now?”
Within moments, he prepared the proposal and presented the price on-site. The contractor’s response was immediate: “Great—we’d like you to do it.”
The conversation quickly shifted from pricing to scheduling, and the project was booked for the following week.
For busy contractors, responsiveness matters. Waiting days for a proposal can delay an entire project. By providing prompt site evaluations, accurate pricing, and dependable scheduling, Sparkle Surface Care helps keep construction projects moving forward.
On the scheduled day, our team arrived ready to prepare the newly installed VCT floor for its first professional finish. Because the factory-applied shipping coating had already served its purpose, the floor was mechanically scrubbed to remove it before the finishing process began.
Next, the entire surface was thoroughly steam rinsed using our truck-mounted extraction system. This critical step flushed away the stripping residue while immediately recovering it into our waste tank, leaving the floor exceptionally clean and ready to receive its finish.
Finally, three professional coats of commercial floor finish were carefully applied, allowing each coat to cure before the next was installed. The result was a smooth, uniform finish designed to enhance appearance while providing long-term durability in a busy commercial environment.
