Along Riverton’s prestigious Bank Avenue stand two remarkable homes tied to the town’s architectural legacy. One dates to 1905. The other may trace its roots back even earlier.
These were never ordinary projects.
They were homes filled with history, craftsmanship, and family heritage. More importantly, they required a level of care that respected every original surface within them.
Our work along Bank Avenue first began at, where the homeowners entrusted us with a handful of detailed restoration projects at the property.
Inside the home’s pine library above the portico, we carefully sanded and refinished the original flooring. The aged pine regained its warmth and richness while preserving its historic character. Once proving our skills, we are asked and honored to restore the quarter sawn & rift red oak floors with walnut edge detailing on the main level Here is all about our first Bank Ave Restoration. In fact so gorgeous, our workmanship was complimented by a nationally known “Hall of Fame” wood industry expert who thanked us for preserving such a treasure, and and complimented us about what it meant to honor our craft!
In addition, our team:
And for the latter, the color sealing done after a massive new kitchen upgrade was a game changer for the client! Not liking the picture framing effect that the grout left visually, the color sealing eliminated that altogether. To explain, each 10″ x 24″ tile was encased with a noticeable “frame” that the grout embellished. Choosing a muted and subtly softer tone, the color sealing “calmed down” the picture framing effect. Instead, now the porcelain looks like a cohesive installation.
That attention to detail and the relationship built led to trust and a new opportunity to the neighboring estate.
Just doors away, a close friend of the family that owns 605 Bank Avenue had been entrusted with overseeing the next chapter of the historic residence. A respected Riverton realtor with deep ties to the community, she was tasked with preparing the home to remain within the family while readying it for executive tenancy.
The home’s primary owner was still wintering in Florida. The home was being updated before being rented. The adult children had chosen not to occupy the property themselves. As a result, thoughtful restoration and careful updating became essential.
The assignment was extensive.
Walls required repair and fresh paint. Carpeting throughout the home needed professional cleaning. The stone surfaces required restoration and protection. The fireplace hearth, a focal point in the study needed an uplift. And most notably, the hardwood floors needed a renewed life while still honoring the home’s original character.
When the long list of service was shared with work at 701 Bank, Cove Road and Stone Harbor — the realtor gained confidence that our team was an ideal fit for 605 Bank Ave. She was impressed. She immediately awarded us all the services we could provide for her on behalf of her client and friend there in Riverton as well. Already proven, she was certain we would bring the same level of care, discretion, and craftsmanship to the neighboring waterfront home, just 2 doors down.
In properties of this significance, homeowners are not simply hiring a contractor. They are selecting stewards for surfaces that often cannot be replaced. Our team was invited into 605 Bank Avenue to begin what became a substantial restoration and preservation project throughout the estate.
The black and white checkered marble foyer required deep grinding and stone restoration. Essentially not an easier job, we revived its natural beauty without compromising its age or integrity.
Within the kitchen, we restored the marble floor’s shine. Then we professionally cleaned, sealed, and polished the granite countertops to enhance both protection and appearance.
We also gave a lot of love to the quarry tile fireplace hearth. Greeting you when you walk in, the fireplace and hearth is the center of attention while the wood library walls, shelves and trim reflect craftsmanship of yester year. But despite deep steam cleaning, the entire grouted surfaces remained old, inconsistent and dinghy. With a careful hand application of grout color sealing, we renewed the depth back to the surface while preserving its historic character.
Every material demanded a different approach. However, the goal remained the same throughout the project: preserve the craftsmanship while elevating the presentation.
The hardwood restoration became one of the home’s defining transformations. At first our team gently cleaned all wood surfaces throughout the property before repairing and sanding the original red oak flooring.
Upon closer inspection, the wood floors showed clear signs of wear and distress. Standard cleaning alone would never have honored the craftsmanship they deserved. With the timing finally right, our team began carefully repairing, restoring, and replacing damaged sections where needed. Every detail was addressed with preservation in mind so the floors could once again reflect the integrity, warmth, and prestige of the home.
So the scope grew and approximately 500 square feet of damaged red oak flooring was torn out and replaced. To complement the home’s architecture, 2 strips of walnut-laced trim was again integrated along the foyer edges from the front to the rear of the residence. Like the original, the walnut trim encased each column, every stone fireplace hearth, and along and around every wall.
The result feels original to the home because the craftsmanship honors the home itself. Nothing appears forced or overdone. Instead, the restored surfaces now feel timeless, refined, and entirely appropriate to the estate.
The property will remain within the family. A tenant who is appropriate for the home has been secured.
That future mattered throughout the restoration process. This was not simply about appearance. It was about stewardship.
Soon, our team will return once again to complete detailed finishing work. Final detailing has been scheduled so every surface reflects the level of care invested into the restoration.
In summation, the residence feels proud again. The marble shines softly. The wood carries warmth and depth. The stone surfaces feel rich and refined. Every room reflects the history and heritage the property deserves.
And the home is once again ready for its chapter.
