Renowned Architect J. Robert Hillier—Princeton alumnus, faculty member, and visionary behind iconic buildings across the globe—sought expert care for his modern New Hope estate. He turned to us. He was drawn to us after researching and discovering our comprehensive mastery of fine surfaces. Equally impressive, what stood out was our attention to detail, precision and commitment to service and excellence.
Originally his design, a Frank Lloyd inspired stone dwelling was carefully lavished with the finest modern accoutrements. Nestled along the Deleware River he masterfully intertwined natural elements. A sense of nature started within, and continued with magnificent views looking out. And our charge of sorts, was to restore the spa-like marble master bath retreat. A zenful respite, it includes a shower with a soaking tub, again having breathtaking views of the peaceful Delaware River’s preserved landscape.
And what began on the phone continued in person. No small task, his Frank Lloyd Write inspired design wasn’t to be trusted with just anyone. From our initial arrival to care and execution of our work his hunch proved him right. We were the right team for the job.
Like in his work, every attention to detail matters. And revitalizing his master bathroom was no exception.
From the very first project, Mr. Hillier paid us a nice testimonial In his words:
“This was one of the best contractor experiences I’ve had in my long career in construction. From wearing booties on arrival to pricing the job to extra time making sure every detail was perfect, Chris was amazing… professional, reliable, trustworthy, and really caring! His wife and partner is the icing on the cake—organized, friendly, and just as reliable. A great team.”
Mr. Hillier soon invited us to extend our expertise beyond his residence—restoring and maintaining surfaces at Studio Hillier, his architectural office, as well as several luxury rental apartment complexes within his portfolio, and even former clients and a design of his done 30+ years back.
Our relationship continued over the next two decades. This was marked by trust, mutual respect, and collaboration. We were honored to help prepare his estate for his daughter’s wedding, restoring marble and stone surfaces to a flawless finish for the special occasion.
When called to evaluate stone counters in Princeton University faculty housing, we provided expert consultation and honest recommendations. In this capacity we advised that the materials could not be successfully restored. Perhaps and honest assessment, he appreciated our honesty, reinforcing our commitment to integrity over profit.
When the time came for Mr. Hillier to sell his beloved estate following the loss of his wife, he made a point to personally introduce the new owner to each of his trusted service providers. This would serve the home he truly loved, ensuring it would continue to receive the same level of care he valued.
That thoughtful gesture opened a new chapter. The buyer—downsizing from her own French country horse estate—soon became a valued client as well. We have since served both properties, further expanding our portfolio of prestigious estates throughout New Hope, Princeton, Rumson, Spring Lake, Moorestown, The Main Line, Medford, and along the Jersey Shore.
From marble and limestone restoration to wood refinishing, upholstery, and fine carpet care, we understand the complex surface needs of luxury homes and estates. Our clients include architects, business leaders, and families of distinction—those who expect flawless results, professionalism, and discretion.
As Mr. Hillier’s enduring trust demonstrates, our expertise, integrity, and respect for every detail have made us the preferred partner for those who demand the very best.
