We recently had the opportunity to strip and wax the all-purpose rooms at one of the largest senior living communities in the region. It’s vibrant 55+ development with over 2,400 homes and two active community centers.

Before we met, I suggested she refer to another project we did for a Senior Community in Brick.

First and foremost, I think it really helped when I referred her to a similar project, where she could see before-and-after pictures. So the one I had in mind was perfect. Therefore, I referred her to our website, and specifically to “case studies.” Once on the right page, she could see another community room, where the board avoided having to tear out their VCT. Historically, the facility relied on its in-house team for floor maintenance. But they wanted to proceed differently. A newer, forward-thinking property manager began seeking out local professionals to handle specialized projects. After searching on the web, we were invited to meet and give them a proposal.

Her hunch was right— and her intuition served her well.

To raise the bar, her purpose was driven to meet quality expectations. The manager has in the past, preferred hiring professionals. So with results in mind she applied the same logic. In her thinking, better equipment and expertise would exceed what any in-house efforts might ever produce.  Not for lack of trying, unlike professionals, they’d take a stab at it with a scout’s try. But it would never match what a well-oiled machine, as in a professional team, would certainly deliver.

Before and during our meeting, the manager was overwhelmingly impressed with our reputation for quality work in the area. To begin with, the confidence we exuded spoke for itself.

But shortly thereafter, what she didn’t know (that also helped seal the deal) was our previous experience working in the community. She learned we had past experience working in their event halls. And she was delighted to hear we have ongoing experience serving their residents (perhaps 100’s to date). In fact, we welcome working with them and give them good work, but also the gentle guidance and good deeds any mother would be proud of!

Presenting this to her superiors, it was mutually decided her suggestion was the way to go!

So—after meeting and touring the community halls, we gave them our proposal. We ultimately won the job.

As “showtime” neared, she gave us ample time.

Once hired, they arranged for the buildings to be closed during the process. We assembled a seasoned crew. It’s no joke, this “A Team” has credentials that blow most floor teams out of the water! To be precise, our team combines over 250 years of floor-stripping experience for the job.
